Have you ever considered trying ancestry.com?

i was recently given a gift of ancestry.com and i’m curious if anyone else has used this service?.

I actually was scared to do the DNA at first. All of the crazy scenarios ran through this brain you know the what if's. I have a sister or brother out there that will get hurt because they did not know their dad was not faithful to "mom". The DNA test sat on the dresser for six months until one night I watched a show where a favorite actor traced his roots back to his roots. I mailed it the next day.

I have met my one of my half brothers. One has passed. I have been strongly advised not to contact my half sister (drug addict, who is always looking for money). The half brother I met we grew up very close together but both have moved away. Both raised by disfuctional mothers. Yes and our biological father, fathered apparently many children how many "?" well we may never know. LOL.

There is a striking resemblance between my son and my biological father and my biological grandfather.

I, also had DNA done for medical reasons and this answered many unanswered questions. I absolutely hated going to the doctors until 6 months ago. I had genetic testing done which explained to the doctors that they had been overdosing me on almost every medication they had prescribed for the first 65 years.

My family lineage on both biological sides is fairly clear cut. My mother's grandparents were the first to arrive from Germany (LOL, not what we were told). Sorta lost my Italian heritage somehow by doing the DNA. But, the family sure loved their Italian food. My great grandmother's sister also came along for the ride and married a local boy. Both of these women proceeded to populate the southwestern corner of Pennsylvania. I affectionately refer to them and their children as "never not pregnant". The original 2 produced 16 and 18 children. Each of those had no less then 6.

My biological father was born to an equally large family who consumed the western end of South Carolina. When I got the initial report from Ancestry, my daughter said you can walk up to anyone in these three towns and I am sure they must be your cousin.

By going through obituaries it was very easy to determine who had moved away as I was born in a city completely away from either of these two locations.

Not only did my mother do this to me!! This seemed to be a family thing. Her mother did it to her and I have been trying to determine from this monstrous list who her father was. It has to be one of these families that does not fit on "My Mother's Tree" or "My Father's Tree".

Five years ago at the age of 62, for the first time in my life I needed my birth certificate. Simple you would think but not if your mother is a pathological liar. So it took the Clerk of the Clerk and myself 6 months of research to find it. Her name on it was not her married or maiden name. She went back a generation and used her grandparents name as her last name. For my last she did not use the name which I went by the first 25 years of my life. She listed her step-father as my dad.

All of this required that I obtain a lawyer and go before a judge to change my birth certificate so I could get my driver's license and register my vehicles.

Shortly afterwards, I did the DNA from Ancestry. I have found my biological father (he had passed 5 yrs prior to me finding him), a half brother, a first cousin, 100's of 2nd and 3rd cousins. At this point only met my half brother and talked to a few of the cousins.

Both my biological parents families believed strongly in extremely large families, I still cannot get past recording family trees beyond 3 generations. On both side my grandparents all 4 were 1 of 14 to 18 children.

I do not have the time to look up the tax code but just placed a call to my girlfriend who is the head Elder of Finance for her church. She is driving right now but when she gets home she promises the answer with tax code.

Morpheus I have full confidence in the statement I made. I have spent 40+ years working with 501C3 for my clients in a financial role and as a chairperson for many 501C3 charity organizations, I am very much aware what the law state regarding donations.

Never a JW, I have no clue what type of docs you guys have besides you would never allow a woman to look at your books no matter how many degrees she has!!!

Someone who is an actual Tax lawyer could answer that question but in all the 501C3 organizations I have been involved we have always been warned by the tax accountants: If you take the money in for reason. XYZ you will spend it for XYZ or you will return the money to the donors. I have been involved in many types of charities and also private schools where we raised money for financial aid for students who otherwise could not attend because of the tuition. IRS does take these 501C3 corporations very seriously, I know I have sat through a few of these bloody audits. If someone has actual documents that a board resolution is overriding actual earmarked donations then a simple phone call to IRS will start the ball rolling.

When the donations were made the checks clearly stated for XYZ project, then it must be used for XYZ project or returned. This will jeopardize their 501C3 tax exempt status.

The older I get the more angry I become!

i did some self-reflection today trying to determine why, with every passing day, i become angrier against the watchtower company.

i am in my 70's and my health is failing.

at first, i thought it was because "worldly" people couldn't care less about jdubs and the little world they live in even though the witlesses think that the earth revolves around them and their desert god who was originally worshipped by the cainites.

There are Worldy People who cares. I never KNEW what a JW was till I was 60 and introduced by the Elder. Once I found out, I have been reverse witnessing ever since. I am so sure my address has been placed on the do not call list. I go to all the flea markets within a 50 mile radius of my home. JW seem to love those places, amazing how not a single one of them have ever heard of the ARC and the one today asked me today who Geoffrey Jackson was? Just rolled my eyes. And this dude claimed to be a Pioneer. Oh, and they absolutely turn all pedos over to the authorities. Oh and he was telling me about all the wonderful charity work the JWs do. And they are building KH all over the world right now. When I told him about all the Elder, Branch Overseers, WT lawyers, Circuit Overseers, Geoffrey Jackson testifying at the ARC under oath his comment was they won't be serving much longer then.

As long as there are children and women entering a KH, I will reverse Witness.
